Warp
Best British film at the baftas 5 years after tis 86 and 90 were always planned.
Warp are not moving from film to TVs as they have always have it is just been low profile
Tise made 1.8 million in the box office but it was very successful on DVDs as they sold half a million copy's it was successful on tv as ads have been created which is convergence with positive effect. 2.2 million watched the first to episode. 2010 tise 86 came out and it spread on Twitter and Facebook.
Fur TVs 2007
Tis England 86 2011
Midnight beasts 2011
They have an increase in to over the last few years where as the films stopped around 2010
There has only been 3 after this. Before you were not given the time to do certain shoots in to compared to film where you have better equipment "snob value" no crossing but this is not true anymore. Tv and film are the same thing so this is why it is good for convergence.
Film 4 get film rights
The works and optimism releasing can sell it for 15 years and optimum releasing for the to show they went to channel four are aloud to show it twice they gave 500k per hour but this was not enough. Mad man releasing and nonstop were sold the tv series before it was out so they would show it as the film was already popular.
Cinematography presentation
BBC blamed film for a period of time. Film making is collaboration. I was unable to get many notes on this presentation so i have extracted some from others blogs.
- On a typical set there will be one wide, one medium and one small camera.
- Film making is a collaboration, everyone has a job
- Film is still used a lot today, Spielberg still uses film
- Breaking the code - generally you never film a woman on a 16mm because they will look distorted, always a 35mm.
- Scripts important to make a smooth good film.
- Film as much as you can - experience is key Ianthe industry
- The cinema is still important - want to feel the reaction of others around you, better than on netflix on your own, need to keep people coming to the cinema.
- Fuji film is good - ran technicolour out of business,
Convergence
Media Convergence-- The Three C's: Computing, Communications and content.
- Combinations of Information Technology and Telecommunications network companies.
- Technologies: Creative Content has been converted to industry standard digital forms of delivery, through broadband or Wi-Fi.
- To be shown on TV, Phones, Computers and digital voice recorders hooked up to TVs.
- Industries: Companies cross the business spectrum from media to telecommunications to technology. These ca merge and become a new business all together.
- Different technological systems to evolve and combine towards performing similar tasks.
- Previously separate technologies, that now share resources and interact with each other. Creating new efficiencies.
